Last week, I went for foils, and the girl made it so chunky that I looked like a bleachblond (a good look for some but not for me). She put a toner on, but it still looked too light, and almost a little pink. I went home and put on a dark ash blonde 7A, and of course, I got great green highlights! I went to a salon and had my hair cut and a toner put on, but the toner is RED. The colorist at the salon said my hair was in good condition, dispite the processing. So, my question is, can the red be removed and something closer to my dark ash blond be put on now that it's cut--without turning green? And if so, what color? I won't do it myself, but I'm just wondering if that can be done.

i have used a product called One and Only Colorfix. It works great. there are 2 methods for using it...you can mix in with shampoo to lighten what you have gradually, or you can do spot color lifts. it has a great conditioner in it and my hair actually felt healthier afterwards. its found at beauty supply stores like Sally's Beauty Supply. I had accidentally dyed my hair black (it absorbed color too quickly) and I did the shampoo method & it turned a lovely brown with very subtle highlights. I got many compliments and i onlyu had to leave it on about 5 minutes. Watch it Close!!! All the directions are on the inside of the box. I highly recommend it and I color my hair alot.

A toner CAN be removed. You should be able to go back in and tell your stylist that your aren't happy with the color and ask for darker toner to be applied. Bring a picture with you so you both are on the same page as far as what color you are trying to achieve. Sounds like your hair lifted alto. This means more options as far as color. Only thing is is once you do get the shade of toner you like applied it will eventually fade. So re-application will be needed. Toner is Semi-permanent. I know that toner can be removed because I've had it done. One time I went to this salon with specific directions on how my old friend and stylist had done my hair. We used a Redken shades EQ and I specifically told her "when you put it on you can't leave it on for very long pretty much right after u apply it you'll have to rinse me right after" she said okay went outside and had a cigarette I was panicked but thought she knew what she was doing. She rinsed my blew it dry and I had silver hair. I was furious. She then applied some kinda shampoo and got it out and re-applied the toner so I KNOW this can be done personally. HTH
