I have two cats already Betty and Bodi. We are getting my friends kittens and there is no turning back. One of my cats is a nervous breakdown and meows all the time and run through the house out one door and in the other. Is it the thing missing from her life or is it a bad idea?

Leave them alone, they will sort it out themselves.

They will have to establish a hierarchy, or order of dominance.

They will be able to do so faster if you do not interfere.

No, she will not think it is her kitten. that is silly. I think you should talk to your cat's vet, one that knows your cats to see if it is a good idea, personally, I d not think it is a good idea. A nervous cat with a new addition to the family can and will put this nervous cat over the edge and could prove fatal for the kitten as well as shorten the life span of your older cat. if you go through with this, you must be there at all times through the whole introduction which could take months. I would get professional advice before doing this to help you help your cats. a kitten with 2 older cats, not a good idea. One more thing, why don't you tke your cat to the vet and find out why it is so uncomfortable and running from door to door meowing? Something is wrong, and it could be something simple. But if you can't care for the ones you have, why add another? bad Idea!

We continuously had one cat at a time and that they have got been completely content with life. Then we offered a boy kitten which became out to be a female and extremely of giving the girl back we've been given yet another boy and stored them the two. They appeared comfortable around one yet another and it replaced into candy while they wiped sparkling one yet another and slept next to a minimum of one yet another, yet various the time they handed over one yet another. Your kitten won't be afflicted by being the only cat interior the abode. i think of your dad is probable precise, they continuously are you comprehend. it will basically double the hair, double the scratched furnishings and double the protecting cost.

As long as you're willing to suffer through things like potty "accidents" by your older cats, as a sign of their displeasure. I had two well-established cats, and my daughter tried to introduce a third. It was pure disaster....they hated that third cat so much that BOTH cats went on a mission of destruction that lasted until I finally got rid of the third (BACK to my daughter). Even then it took months before they would stop "rewarding" me with surprises outside their litter boxes.

I ended up having to replace my couch set. Tear up my wall to wall carpeting. Throw out some very handsome solid wood dressers (once cat urine soaks into the wood NOTHING is going to get it out!). And I had to wash down a LOT of floors with pure bleach just to get rid of the urine smell.

Rub a towel on the kitten before you bring him/her home. Do this as soon as you can.

Place the towel by the cats' food dish. Once they get used to the smell of the kitten it should be easier to get acceptance.

Some cats like other cats: Not all cats like each other. If you're committeed to getting the new cat - get it. The three cats will learn to get along, or they will learn to avoid each other. But somehow THEY will work out their co-existence.

(PS: Worse case -- one of your cats will voluntarilly leave. This, however, is somewhat unlikely)
