It could be the increase in blood pressure and blood flow during sports. I know that sometimes I can feel the blood pulsing through vessels in my ear and the sound is muffled with each beat. Maybe your vessels around you ear are becoming dilated when playing sports, pushing tissue against your eardrum/ear canal.

must be the blood pumping in your ears, ask your doc next time you visit
