Religion itself is not bad. It is how people twist it and use it as an excuse for bad things that make it seem bad.

It can be very good. Most all colleges, universities and hospitals have been started by religious people. The earliest and still many programs for the poor and the hungry have been started by religious people. Civil Rights was brought about by religious people, as was the abolition of slavery.
It is often repeated that more people have been killed by religious people than for any other cause, but this is not true. Stalin holds the record for mass murder, surpassing Hitler and giving Mao a close third. And who chiefly did those three secular tyrants kill? Religious people.

Here is Websters definition of religion--The service and adoration of God or a god as expressed in forms of worship. #4 is--A conviction of the existence of a supreme being, resulting in reverence, love, gratitutde, etc. If religion is the adoration ofGod not any god it is not bad. God wants us to worship Him and be thankful. Why do we not owe Him that when He sent His only begoten Son to die for all f our sins. For the wage of sin is death. We no longer have to pay that price For Christ has already done that. It can e bad when it is sused for bad things. As with anything there are those who will take something as wonderful as the Love of the Lord and make it bad.We have to forgive them and continue to believe and love God andpray for them. I pray for all the lost souls and try hard to doit several times a day. They need the christians praer more than those who aleady have their faith.

Organized religion, as a time-waster, is not bad in itself, it just attracts the evil among us.
Once you realize that spirituality and a love of god have nothing to do with whether the preacher drives a Cadillac or a Geo Metro, then you are well on the way to freeing yourself from the habit.
Short answer, belief in a deity is not bad, but hanging out with a bunch of folks to shout about your belief in that deity probably is.

It is fake, but not bad.
Religion was invented by rulers to create fear in the minds of those of their subjects that thought that the ruler was another human being like them and therefore not to be feared.
Now it helps to prevent crime to some extent. There are people who would not fear law, but would behave good because they were being watched from up there.
At the same time, there are people who are shoplifters, and at end of the day make an offering of a certain percentage (say 25%) of their days loot to the Church. Slowly they start feeling that God is 25% partner with them in their deeds. That is where it is bad too.

The name you have chosen for yourself doesn't leave much doubt about your agenda but, frankly, it makes you seem stupid.
Religion is both good and bad. Many who require a 'crutch' in life find the support they need in religion. But too much of even good things are bad. Religious fanaticism and extremism are poison.

Let me start by say I'm a Christian. Religion is bad. Religion is man's attempt to clothe himself in holiness to reconcile himself to God, and religion always fail. What I'm talking about is man-made rules and ordinances(do this and don't do that), church attendance, altruism, doing Charity work, doing good work of any kind. Doing these things are good, and we should all do them, but if we're doing them to reconcile ourselves to God, to get to Heaven, it won't work.
What you need is a personal relationship with Christ, and attendance in a good Bible believing Church. He did all the work of saving us on the Cross. Anything we try to do to earn our way to Heaven is blasphemous. So in that respect, religion is bad.

It is not the religion that is bad, it is the person like you that make it bad.

religion itself is no worse than any other institution on this earth, and better than many. it's stupid and evil people who twist it for their own uses that give people the impression that it's a bad thing.
