Try this free website where you can track your calories eaten and burned through exercise and also get support from chat boards with other members called http://www.sparkpeople.com

It's an excellent resource, full of good tips, tools and advice and even shows demonstrations of proper exercise and strength training techniques.

I've lost 10 lbs so far, been on it for 2.5 weeks!

I think W.W is a great way to ease into loosing weight. Read some of the answers on here about eating less. It's not about eating less it's about eating MORE but you need to eat the RIGHT food. Along with working out you need to eat protein and lots of it. You should eat every 2-3 hours and get the metabolism going. You don't want to eat less because what your body will do is store that food and won't burn it because it's not sure when it'll eat again. Depending on where your at as far as weight depends on how much cardio you should do. I'd also suggest incorporating weights into whatever program you decide to do. I'm not familiar with "slimming world or Rosemary conoly's" I think most of these diets are 'trendy" JMHO. I think the biggest thing is you've got to teach yourself how to eat right and exercise. I would suggest looking into and reading "Body for Life" by Bill Philips. Take his challenge that's a great way to start.

Hi well i joined weight watchers and lost a stone is 3 months and it was great i didnt really think of it as a diet as you can bascally eat what you want and there is no need to excercise if you dont really want to or cant.. For slimming world i dont know about and Rosemary connrly sounds ok and even i wouldnt mind joining, its slimilar too weight watchers but you go for an excercise session for 45 mins a week and get weighed as well. Brilliant if you have no problem and you love to excercise and you find that excercising alone doesnt work, I think its £5 pound i dont really know.

None of these. Watch what you eat. Use your common sense - you know what is good and bad for you. And get plenty of exercise. Its old fashioned but is the best advice. Depending on your motivation for dieting, you can employ additional methods to help you reach your goal.

By the sound of things, you are fat and want to loose weight. In that case, first start out with a detox diet such as mixing honey and ginger with warm water and drinking that five times a day. This will help you in the toilet. After that, eat three sensible meals a day - try to stick to natural foods. Basic theory is burn more calories than you intake. You will be surprised how quickly you achieve results.

Weight watchers is fab, lots of choice and easy to understand. The only down side, which is the same for alot of slimming clubs is that the target weights can sometimes be a wee bit too low.

"Diets" don't work. It's about lifestyle changes. Weight watchers is about lifestyle and changing your eating habits for good. The nice thing about Weight Watchers is the support....unfortunately it also costs you. You can do the same thing yourself. There are lots of books about all the programs you listed. Don't go to extremes, balance your food groups, stay away from processed and highly sugared food and walk.

Weight gain and weight loss are pretty much just a matter of calories in and calories out. If you eat more calories than you use up (through exercise or just plain living), you gain weight. If you burn more calories than you eat, you lose weight. For weight purposes, it really doesn't matter if you eat carbs or protein or whatever.

Of course, what you eat does matter from a nutritional standpoint, but that's another story.

Anyway, the best diet is the one that works for you. That implies you have to actually stick to it. Which of the diets do you think you'd feel most comfortable sticking with?

As a nutritionist, it is not the diet that is the scientific ingredient that you will loose weight. First we must reduce our calorie intake, exercise and burn more calories that we take in, and keeping in mind if were not consuming enough protein, were going to lack energy, vitality, and our muscles will get small, the muscle tissue weaker, and our skin not looking "tight" but rather just hanging there! the choice is yours, I can't recommend which one, I can recommend you look at the protein value, carbs, fat and cholesterol.

A scientif formula is if I want to loose weight and I take in 2500 calories a day, I'm going to have to burn 2600 calories and that's allot of exercise!

Thank you

I'm not really sure, but for exercise I love Rosemary C's Salsacise DVD. It's fun but still gets you working hard. Combine this with healthy eating, whether with RC or with your own program, and that makes for a healthy lifestyle.
