My niece is the same, she got her A levels, then went to a uni doing something to do with animals, and hopes to be an RSPCA officer, but has to wait till she is 21, as they don't take you before that, and she also needs a driving licence which she hasn't got yet. But if I was you I would do really really well at school and become a vet. Fantastic life, loads of money can work anywhere in the world, I would work in Africa with wild animals.

the most important skill you can develop is people skills. learn how to interact with people and that is 70 % of getting any job. Study biology, chemistry, and other science. Try to get an internship at the zoo even now on summer vacation and start making networking with the employees.

Your school adviser for your state and school will be the most help to you. Also when you do get into college get a good adviser. If you want to be a veterinarian, I would think that biology would be a must subject. Good luck, working with animals can be rewarding.

You say work with animals, more important here is to what degree!
If you are planning on being a vet then there are definite steps you should take, heavy on the math and science.
