If these wandered in on you, might you consider it a sign that you're *supposed* to have them?
I'm in MD and can't help you out; sorry---we'd LOVE a kitten, but need to adopt a somewhat older cat for a companion (our current baby is over 10 years old, and stodgy in his ways). Hope all goes well and they don't need to go to the shelter. Ours are jammed with small kits right now, and not nearly enough homes.
