YES! I've been on them for 3 years and yes they can and do make you very irritable at times.

Crazy people take xanax. They're already irritable because they can't cope. It's not the xanax.

No Xanax doesn't cause irritibility. i have been on it for at least five years for my nerves and it works great for me. It will slow you down a little but it should make you feel a little better although it can make you sleepy.

Xanax ( Alprazolam ) Symptoms or Effects

Common: Clumsiness, Sleepiness, Drowsiness, Dizziness, Depression, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea / Constipation, Difficulty urinating, Vivid dreams, Headache, Dry mouth, Decreased sex drive, and/or changes in behavior.

Rare: Abdominal cramps, blurred vision, dry mouth, racing heartbeat / palpitations, shaking / slurred speech, urination problems, convulsions,hallucinations, memory loss, trouble breathing, staggering / trembling, headache, confusion, sore breast / milk secretion, or irregular menstruation. ( Be consistent in what you capitalize in both “common” and “rare” . Either is fine, it just needs to be consistent. )

Always see physician for these side effects and for severe clumsiness and sleepiness.

Usually it ends irritability...it usually has a great calming effect, when taken properly...very good med for anxiety...so no, I would say it does not.

Those types of drugs do have those type of side effects. its listed in their Contraindications. If your concerned ask your treating Doctor or Chemist.

ALL medications affect each person differently.

It is quite possible.

ex-xanax addict, it causes two emotions=happy when your on them and angry when your out, they are the devil pills, be scared very scared............
