Your question has to deal with semantics - or, the meaning that exists behind language. Every language has it's own semantical structure, and it's very difficult to say which is more 'complex' than another, because they evolve under different circumstances. For example, the language of people who number very few (for example, Lapp, from nothern Finland) may have limited expression in terms of 'keeping up with technology' - BUT, it may be far more rich in terminology of the environment in which Lapps live. Another good example is the Hawaiian language. Hawaiian has a repository of the most detailed descriptions of fish of any language in the world - more so even than most scientific Ictheology (study of fish) books would.

Polish has a very rich oral tradition and fable / mythic tradition as well. The Poles to whom I've taught English have an extraordinary sense of humor and have commented much about their interest in English because it has similar 'humor' structure. Polish is also fortunate in that it has many, many 'phoenems' - which are word particles (something like syllables). This allows for a wide variety of sounds that the mouth can actually make. Some would say that this renders the language more 'versatile' than English in that it can support many more 'sounds'. Although English also has many phoenems, there are many sounds that English speakers have great difficulty pronouncing (for example, the 'h' of Greek, which is louder than our h, but softer than the 'ch' of Scottish 'Loch'.)

I do not think that English or Polish are more expressive than each other, but they are clearly different kinds of languages. Polish grammar, for example, is more complex - English grammar is simpler, but VERY irregular, so that new English speakers have to memorize many pronounciations. English can be said to be very flexible, however, because it is the dominant language in the world right now, and many terms that enter English are quickly adapted for use. I cannot say if this is the same for Polish or not, but English, for now, would be the lingua franca (common tongue) of the world.

Your best bet, if you're able, is to learn both languages!

How expressive a language can be depends on the user entirely.
However you could say English is more upto speed with modern notions and hence seems more expressive. Polish is a great language on its own and you really can't make such direct comparisons so easily. Become a connoiseur at any language and you'll realise the intricacies that make every language unique.

With a vocabulary approaching 1m words, English has the potential to be the most expressive. Looking at the way some of the questions and answers are constructed on this site, I hope the Poles could do a better job.

Not at all.

I speak 4 languages fluently, and cannot see any differences in level of expression between any of them.

Generally speaking, English speakers think their language is more expressive than the rest, French people think French is, etc etc etc.

No English is more expressive., However Polish people when they speak are more inclined to gesticulate with their hands, so it may give the impression that Polish is more expressive.

For any native speaker of any language their own is more expressive than any other, because only they know all the nuances that other people don't.
So there never can be any real contest.
