If someone mentions "looks" at all in questions, people automatically label this person shallow, etc. etc. Then they write 5 page long papers on the importance of the personality, when in reality they would want to date a good looking person too. And in reality, a good looking person has better chances of getting away with being a d*ck than an ugly person does. Yes, personality is important, yet on first impressions, looks are supreme.

So, why do these people who criticize and are so quick to label others "shallow a**holes" pretend to be completely unsuperficial? Why are they so damn hypocritical?

Hi5 to that mate. On paper, the ugly, good guy looks good, but in reality he will loose to the good looking cocky guy any day.

Your question is a bit strongly worded - re "liars". But you have a point and if experience has shown you the truth of what you say, why do you now have to cry about it on Yahoo? So you discover a truth, fine, get on with your life. What is it that now makes you need to go back and brand them as liars, hypocritical etc? Are you crying for the world to be fair? especially, fair to you? For some people, looks are not important; for some others, they say it because they want to believe that as they strive for their higher selves, but I don't know that that gives you the right to be branding them as liars, and the act of doing so says more about you than them.

Good question.
Guess the truth is not something everyone can deal with.
It is a given that for MOST people the initial attraction is physical and may grow from there but looks is how it starts MOST of the time.

You bring up some interesting points. However Im 19 and my husband is 36 and while he looks good and I can honestly say I have NEVER dated anyone for their looks and I did NOT marry my husband for his looks. Looks fade as people get older then what do you have?

overall, it is the personality, however, they do not mention the fact that it is the looks that gets their attention......but in the long run....it is always the personality.....the questions ask what is most important, and they are honest.....no one, well few would, will stay with a total @sshole or b*itch.....no matter how good they look

JESUS titty f**kin CHRIST lady. What difference does it make? You propose to change them?

I have a better question for you! Why would a person repeatedly state that "others opinions don't matter to me" then go on a 3 topic rant about those opinions? Lighten up please.
