Momentum is the product of mass and velocity.
Impulse is the product of force and time. A force applied over time
to an unrestrained object will increase its momentum.

An impulse is when you hit the cue ball with a pool stick. Momentum is what moves the ball along its trajectory.

impulse is a large amount of force acting in a short period of time.
athematically it is the product of the force and the time for which it acts .

momentum is the combined effetc of mass and velocity
it is given as mass X velocity.
