these are my techniques for developing 'peace' or controlling anxiety. First of all, any negative/anxious thought that enters my mind (for me its negative thoughts about how i look or my body) I try to realize when I'm thinking this thought and take a moment to observe any triggers that could have caused it. Then I move on and force myself to think about anything and everything but that thought. I'll take out a planner or calendar and look at that to shift my attention, start reading a book or do anything to shift my mind from the thought.
I also had problems falling asleep at night and taught myself a technique that is used in meditation and to make yourself at peace. Lay down and try to relax every muscle. Take slow, deep breaths. Be consciously aware of every breath you take and allow this to continue for as long as you can.. after a few moments you will notice your breaths get deeper and longer. You will be able to control the breath better and better. Keep being aware of the breath and do this for abotu 15 minutes. If it is night you can feel your body drift off to sleep. If you are just meditating then set an alarm to wake yourself up if you need to, but just let the breathing take over. I do this every night before bed now and am guaranteed to have a deep restful sleep which i had not had in years

Peace---its a conditioning of mind.if you are at peace with yourself ,if you are not struggling constantly within,if you have fine tuned your balance of any out side influences and your reactions to them only then you can be peaceful...and the supreme truth is whatever will be will be...its all for a good cause......
