Come and live where I do( the Middle East) and see what the British Embassy charge for an officer spending three seconds putting his signature and the embassy seal to a document!
Here the Asian embassies are very cheap.

Your statement is too general to be useful.
I have always found countries like Japan and Thailand to be both courteous and efficient. As Christine H says try the prices at British Embassies abroad for daylight robbery!

Not fair, im in philippines and US consulate charging people 100 US dollar for the application form and in 5 minutes they will just deny you even if you have alll the requiremnts.

yes,for more investing,money and the safety of their country.but i it depends on what country you're from.they really charge for services and compare.
