Whether people are religious, atheist, democrat, republican, liberal, conservative, hippie, tree hugger or capitalist (you get the picture) everyone needs to open their eyes and shut their mouths. Look at what is happening and it will be obvious. The mass media and politicians want you to see things their way. Think for yourself. Global warming is REAL. Hundreds of scientists can not be wrong, sure a few can make mistakes but the whole community believes in it.

Global warming is not a 'hippie' idea as you put it, it is a scientific idea and it is happening whether you choose to think so or not. Ice caps are melting and organisms are mirgrating to places they were never in before because they are trying to escape the rising temperatures. I don't think they talked about global warming in the Bible, because they didn't know what we were going to do to the planet. If we don't take steps to correct it, we will lose a healthly planet and many of the organism that live in it.

I am guessing in another generation or so - just as the weathly hippies of the 1960's & 1970's gave up on socialism and sharing the wealth (if they ever really did believe in that and were not just upset that it was not them with the wealth at the time).

I'm not sure about Dan's faith in Revelations. After all, he said "Christianity is for baby raping republicans" in another thread.
Anyway, as an atheist I'm obviously going to hell so it's probably a good thing if I get the chance to get used to warmer weather before I die.

Just a quick look at your questions history suggests that you don't see much of anything in anything, so why would hippies or anyone else be influenced by what you "see".

Probably when we all start dying because we have made the planet unsustainable for human life, at which point the scales will fall from your eyes, and you, along with the rest of the brainwashed will say "Bu**er, so it was just a 2,000 year old fairy story after all"
