A lot of people I know that stayed home with their kids went through this same thing. Just try to relax and calm yourself down. Call a friend and talk to them for a little reassurance. You are not used to relying on someone else to watch you child, and that can be nerve wrecking. Good Luck. I'm a stay at home mom and I know I'm gonna be the same way. I'm already like that when she's gone for more than a couple hours.

I just sent my first to Kindergarden too. I'm not to worried as I was. Check with your school and see how things are run. My son wore a name tag wih his bus number on it and still when I remember wears it. Talk to your son, go over information like what bus # he rides, knows his phone number. Not to worry you more my son came home his first day scraped up from a fall on the playground. If it's serious they will call you. He'll be fine. Take care, say a prayer for that little boy.
SAHM also since 2000, three wonderful boys

It's okay to be scared, I'm just glad that you're actually letting him go to school and putting up with worrying. You're a good parent.
Although, if you're so scared of him going on the bus, maybe you could drive him, or get one of his friend's parents that you know very very well to drive him or go to after school, if you don't have the time. When I was in kindergarten, I would go to the after school club that kids went to if they couldn't get home right away, and then after a day care after school, and my dad drived me to school. Then in first grade my mom met two of my friend's parents, and half the year I went to one girl's house who my older sister and brother were friends with until my mom came and got me, and the other half I did that with a little boy. Just remember that you're doing the right thing by allowing him to go and begin getting a lifelong education instead of taking him out of school because of your worries. If you want, you can also contact his teacher once and a while to check and see how he's doing.

You are not crazy (paranoid)hahah
it is normal we all have done it
you feel it more because he has been with all the time
some parent had to take their kid to a babysitter before Kinder garden
always make him talk about his day when he gets home
and you listen carefully to him
that way if something inappropriate should happen you will know

You need to get a grip on yourself or you will drive yourself crazy. It's the first step to your son becoming independent and you should be proud, not sad. Usually it is the child who cries and does not want to go to school.
