I guess you already answered your own question and formed an opinion from which you wanted approval. I guess you are hated either way. I'm blown away by all the comments and the responses because I was always nice to the public now I see how the public feels. After 10 years of being polite and helping people I guess its time to blow the dust off the ticket book, and throw the courtesy warnings in the trash. Maybe its because they are constantly the targets of criticism no matter how they do their job. Maybe because you complain when they don't stop speeders and reckless drivers, or is because you were late for work that day. Maybe its because you almost hit a car with one headlight or was the police stopped you because your headlight was out. We complain about the drug problem but come to yahoo to find out how to defend our drug case. Was it the police gave me a DUI/DWI , was he at the party pouring your drinks. I could go on but it would be a waste of time.

We are here to serve you, if you have any complaints other than "he gave me a citation when he could have given me a warning" (because the law gives the officer discretion to give citation or a warning, not department policy) please contact your local police chief, help desk administrator, or even if you talk to a desk sgt......file your complaint, nowadays most cruisers have video cameras, the officers are wearing microphones and the camera starts rolling the very moment that those red and blue lights come on.....on the same token, if you're giving the officer some story that you can't even keep straight, is it really rude that he cuts you off to continue explaining your ticket and how you can take care of it......lastly, if you want to dispute your ticket do it in the courtroom, not on the roadside, it's dangerous for the both of you.......people don't really pay attention on the road and will run into the both of you.....giving the officer yet another reason to be in a "bad mood"

Pigs are amongst the worst "power trippers" in the world. They have authority and they abuse it, but worse than that is they are often not held accountable or are punished less for the same crime you or I would go to prison for.

If you haven't seen this, read how pigs in the US reacted to people trying to file a complaint. (Who cares if it was a reporter under cover? This should not go on, yet the worst pig in Florida received NO PUNISHMENT for his actions or threats.)

You could find thousands of news items like this if you look. There are many pigs out there who think they can do whatever they like with impunity.

We run a red light, we get a ticket. A pig does it and there's a crash, the _other_ drivers gets the blame.

We hit somebody, we get charged with assault. A pig assaults somebody, and he gets a slap on the wrist, if that.

We kill somebody deliberately or by accident, we go to prison. A pig shoots somebody, and it will get whitewashed. If you disagree, just remember all the lies the pigs told when they shot the Brazilian man in England. They lied about his description (he was NOT wearing a heavy jacket "to hide a bomb", and he was not resisting) yet they shot him in the face at point blank range. And ask blacks in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Los Angeles or Pittsburgh about "driving while black"....

My advice? If a pig stops your car, call a friend on your cell before you open the window, but don't put it to your ear and don't let the pig see it. Also carry a pen and paper (even if you're walking, not in a car) to write down any pig's name, badge number, description or license plate. If the pig is really aggressive, don't ask for info, but look and remember, and write it down as soon as the pig is out of sight.

Don't ever give them an excuse, especially to those who are looking for one.

I actually noticed something entirely different. The cops in my town go out of their way to help people out. The other day one of my employees was walking to work and an officer picked her up and drove her the rest of the way. What other person would do that?

Because they are allowed to misbehave and to act rude by people like you who do not report them, and do not speak with your elected officials! THAT is why. They are under YOUR employ; your taxes pay their salary... so, why do YOU let them get away with this kind of behavior? There are codes of conduct that they are not adhering to and you allow it? Well, YOU're at fault for allowing this nonsense. They are NOT paid by your taxes to abuse you or anyone or be disrespectful. The ONLY reason they do this is because they're allowed to carry a gun and because people like you allow them!

They are SUPPOSED to follow the same laws they enforce. They cannot break laws they enforce; they are no better than you and I even if they're "on the job." They CAN go pass red lights, or go over double lines or go in the wrong direction while in pursuit of some lawbreaker but not simply because they CAN. That kind of behavior MUST be stopped; it sends the wrong messages to our youth and others in society. Report them and continue to complain to the elected officials, the town/city council and see how it will come to an end! Continue to complain to the Mayor until he/she gets tired enough and does something about it.

You are right!
They think they are God and have the right to do whatever they want and have no comassion for others.
The only reason they go into that line of work to begin with is because they were bullied growing up and decided to become a police officer so they can now become the bully.

I personally became a cop so I can be mean. I mean, REALLY mean. I eat small children on my code 7 every day. I run down old ladies in cross walks, kill dope dealers so I can snort /smoke /shoot all their dope, and generally trample on everyones rights every chance I get. Just the other day I pulled my own 70 year old Mom over and arrested her, impounded her car, and hog tied her in the back of my squad. ...and I do all this every shift before lunch.

There, now I have posted a reply that is just about about as meritorious as this post and some of the replies. Jeez...come on folks, life ain't a prime time TV show. Get over yourselves.

Thanks again GPD, you keep your self safe out there. We know the REAL score. But, I think I may be getting a complex. I am beginning to think that everyone here does'nt love me. How can I go on? I mean, just imagine what that means to me.

It depends where you are actually..
Like where I am now, its safe, no much crimes happening and police men are well paid, so they are ok, but they get excited when they get the call, 'cause its boring for them, ya know!
I was in another country where police were'nt well paid and they were very rude and took bribes ...etc..
I find that the police slogan "We are here to protect the community.." or any similar expression isn't right..
They can't protect themselves, how will they protect us!
Good ones are hard to find and bad ones are just crooked and terrible!

Some take their authority too far and get a bighead. Some are just jaded from all of the BS they have to put up with everyday.
