They do date, just not like regular bf and gf. They have special anniversaries where they take trips and other stuff as dates and be together that way. Even going out to dinner for their anniversary is date. But I think marriage is much better than just normal dating, because with normal dating you keep trying to find the one person with you. With marriage you have already found them, now you just need to put in the work to keep them.
