I understand that they cannot see objects, but do their eyes have any purpose at all? Like do they just see black? And can blind people have dreams?

Some blind people can still see light or dark but nothing else so I think it depends on the person and I think they can have dreams too.

Why dont you ask a blind person next time you see one.. Seriously..They are the only ones who can tell you..

It also depends on the type of blindness they have. Not everyone is 100% blind..Some can see shapes and some light. I do not believe they are in total darkness for the most part.

We have a friend who started going blind young, it is genetic with the men in his family.. He is now pretty much 100% blind but is now in his 40's.

Most blind people see nothing. It is like their eyes see a solid black wall. That is how it was explained to me. Some legally blind people may see shapes and colors. And yes they dream, they are no different than any one else.

They can totally have dreams, and sometimes they can sense ojects.

I'm sure on a biological/vanity scale there is a purpose to their eyes.

Your best bet is to contact Canadian Institute for the Blind and/or whatever the USA counterpart is
