"Drama queens" are generally attention-starved individuals. The creation of dramatic situations are an attempt for soliciting attention - whether positivie or negative. Chances are the person has low self-worth and is trying to manipulate others around them for a variety of personal reasons (this will probably not be any of your business).

If you are close to the person, perhaps talk with them privately and encourage them to talk to a professional about their problems (school counselor, local clery persons/spiritual leaders, doctor, etc).

If you aren't close to this person, maintain a safe distance from them so you aren't caught-up in their situations - and try to ignore them.

Do not criticize or tease them. They may have some personal problems that could be made worse (searching for more aggressive forms of attention-seeking behavior) by this type of negative feedback.

Well what is the sittuation exactly?? Drama queens are drama queens because they like the attention and think the world revolves around them..... So why dont you just say something to shut them up when they start complaning or talking about THEIR LIFE again. Just interrupt when they start and kinda be rude with them or in a sarcasitc way if you feel more comfortable .. Because if youre too nice in getting your point across, well sorry to say, but drama queens just wont get it. So you have to be kinda rude for them to hear you. Just say you dont want to hear it right now. Youre bussy. You have problems of your own. And watch how her mouth falls open and shuts up!!

You can't unless you have nothing to do with them. They love being the center of the attention. I hate drama queens! Always have to be right and are very nosy!

You have to set your boundaries of how far your going to let her manipulate you. That is all a drama queen is. A spoiled attention seeking person.

the majority rule/ conclusion is: steer clear, ignore, don't respond, They are starved for attention & will never have enough to satisfy their pitifully poor self-esteem and insatiable neediness.

Stop reacting or commenting on her drama.
If you react you give her the power to be dramatic.
She will have to find other people to buy in to her drama.
