Hey lady you are doing the wrong exercise...and remember...no pain no gain.

Look the crunches (same as situps) you are doing are actually for upper abdominal muscles. Tummy normally bulges at the lower abdominal part.

Do reverse crunches.
i) Lie down flat on your back.
ii) Keep your hands near you palm facing ground.
now....
iii) Lift your legs from ground till they are perpendicular.
iv) Go back to normal position.

If you find step three tough here is a lighter version.

Bend your knees while keeping ur legs together, so that you can keep your feet on the floor...get it?

iii) Now lift your legs till your thighs are past 90 degree to your upper torso.
iv) Go back and land your leg on your feet.

Still confused? goto yahoo image search ant type reverse crunches...you''ll see Arnold doing it (Black n white). thats the correct pic.

Later on switch to the tougher one once you feel this is too easy.

Do it slow. This exercise targets the lower abdominal muscles and also is not as nerve wrecking as the crunches. You really will feel that you are working...best of luck

Try Belly dancing. I believe that is the best way to exercise just the part you need - the belly.

I know somebody who is very slim but had a bit of a tummy who took classes consistently for about an year and she got good results.

Besides, its a talent that can come handy when you want to seduce someone ;)

Sit ups are going to give you a nice strong tummy, but guess what - its not going to do anything for the layer of flab over them. There is no such thing as losing localized fat. Either you decrease your overall body fat percentage, or you choose to be happy with your body.
Some people have a natural tendency to store fat in the waist region, while some people store it in the hips. Just because you are slim over the rest of your body, you can still have a little squishy squishy in one part. Thats life, live it and love it. No matter what she thinks - Nicole Richie is not sexy. She is anti-sexy!

Have you tried leg lifts? I am not consistant with them so I am not sure that they work, but, I feel them most of all the excersises I do. Lay flat on your back, lift your legs for about 2 inches. Spread them apart about 6 inches, hold that for about 30 sec (or as long as you can) then put them back together and down, but don't go all the way down, then come back up and do it again. Those really work your ab muscles. But like I say, I am not consistant with them, so I couldn't tell you if they actually work.

You will never have a flat tummy, unless you starve yourself, because it's going have food in it! Biologically it's impossible because women are meant to be curvy!
This annoys me that women look at famous celebrities in the media who have collonic irrigation or are on drugs, or have some sort of support underneath their dress in order to make themselves look stick thin!! Women are meant to be curvy. Need that layer of fat in order to pass our hormones around our bodies and to help with fertility.
If you are under-weight, it shortens your life expectancy!
Learn to love yourself for who you are, warts and all, would be better advice to give than how to achieve the unhealthy!
DON'T STARVE YOURSELF!

P.S. Do you really "need" a flat tummy?
