it's subjective actually. it depends on so many factors, like age, BMR, habitat, total physical output and input..........
so i can manage by sleeping 7 hours while my friend needs to have 9 and my grandma 4!!!
but if u take an average person, with average day-to-day exertio and average all the abovementioned factors, will require 6--8 hours of sleep evryday. this is enough to freshen up an individual.

There are varients based on individual metabolism but between 6 and 8 1/2 is average. Less than four and you might as welol not sleep at all. 4 to 6 and you'll be tired bu funcionting.
more than 81/2 and you're back to tired again

I usually get 3 - 5 hours... It works well for me, but everyone's different. Some people need more sleep, some less.
