Coal combustion emits harmful gases, two of those being Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. These gases react with water vapor in the clouds and produce sulfuric and nitric acids which fall to Earth as precipitation, known as acid rain. This can have a huge effect on ecosystems, killing off aquatic species, and weaking forests to the point where they are left susceptible to diseases. In some areas {Adirondacks of NY} the pH of some lakes is about 4.5, which is extremely extremely acidic. The Adirondacks get a lot of acid deposition due to winds that carry the pollution from places like Chicago and NYC. The lakes are so beat up up there. It wrecks a natural environment and takes a long time to recover, even if the combustion is limited.

Coal burns just like all other fuels, producing a little more ash,but the scrubbers that they are required to use takes it out. U get very closet to the same energy out for the same amount of CO2 produced. Coal burns very hot . Wake up the green house gases are not there just some stupids calculation . If u don't believe me measure it,the big problem is not there at all,CO2 they say has increased 30% ,I cant find it ,Whine I measured it I only found 1 to 2 parts per million, which is nothing. and the other gases aren't there either. The green house gases are a lot like my saving plan so small it produces nothing.

Effects of Coal Combustion:
Heat is produced.
Smoke is produced which contains carbon dioxide and various other metal oxides.
Coke and, or, Ash is produced.
Some water may be released.
Coal dust might explode violently.
Trays upon which coal rests during combustion will corrode from acids precipitating from burning coal.

Coal is mostly carbon atoms, so when you burn it the end product is Carbon dioxide, which is one of the gases that act to make the Greenhouse effect that regulates Earths temperature. More carbon dioxide tends to warm up the planet. When coal is burned in a very high efficiency furnace, all the carbon is burned, but if it is burned in a poorly designed furnace, then a lot of the coal goes out the smokestack as soot, Soot in the atmosphere tends to cool down the planet - this is called Global Dimming. (recent NOVA program on TV) We burn a lot of coal to make electricity because coal is cheap, but it has this bad effect on the earth's climate. Also, a lot of coal has sulfur in it as a contaminant. WHen the coal is burned the sulfur is burned, too, so it makes sulfur dioxide. THat combines with water in the air to make sulfuric acid. When the sulfuric acid rains down to earth it has a very harmful effect on plants, lakes and streams, and any humans or human buildings that are under it.

Coal combustion if done with environmental controls resulting in complete combustion would be minimal. If no controls are applied, you could have metals, sulphur oxides, nitrous oxides, carbon oxides, etc.
Possible effects on humans - respiratory problems, itchy eyes, potential birth defects in drastic cases
Possible effects on land - decreased productivity, acidization, clearing (in order to mine coal), invasion of non-native plants due to human activity (improperly washed trucks and camp equipment during mining and construction phases), global warming (CO2)
Possible effects on animals - loss of habitat, lack of food due to productivity of land, metals in tissue, reproductive problems
Lots more if you look at the life cycle

Coal burning releases lots of CO2, as well as small quantities of carbon monoxide, nitrogen compounds, and sulfur compounds from impurities in the coal. Coal typically contains some minerals, so you also get ash. The primary advantage of using coal as a fuel is that it is cheap because there is so much of it.

properly, it is being executed at cutting-edge. Niagra Falls is an wonderful social gathering the position the stress of gravitational means is right now switched over into electric powered means. it truly is the stress of gravity that attracts water by the turbines, for this reason generating electric powered means. the nice and cozy temperature means of the solar lifts the water up, and the artwork executed with the help of the stress of gravity does something else. The exciting ingredient of it is that the stress of gravity performs artwork, and for artwork to be executed an means source is needed. This brings us to what the source of this stress may be. contained in the physics trilogy that's expressed as: E = mc2, m = E/c2, and c2 = E/m; the perfect is that of a field of actual time, or a gravitational field. It exhibits that as both mass or means (warmth means accordingly) change, the cost of "c2" also alterations. that's a field it is in a position to be higher and decreased in accordance to the means value. were our planet to haven't any means "E", then it would want to haven't any gravitational field. were this value to develop, then the gravitational field might want to also develop, and the means output of hydroelectric flowers might want to also develop. on the concern of earth's magnetic field starting to be a generator - one of those means is generated with the help of the spin of our planet. the position the electric powered means is generated is through the plane of our equator. that's generated by the plasma area of our planet, that is why detrimental and effective poles seem at proper angles to its formation. with the intention to apply the magnetic traces of our planet, because they're spread so some distance aside, a "very" huge device might want to be mandatory to employ their means. it would want to be more desirable uncomplicated to faucet into the plasma area, yet a "sink" for the means might want to also be mandatory. no longer an straightforward ingredient to do lower than the finest of circumstances. i might want to maintain on with hydroelectric means.
