We all battle with various things every day and the fact that we are Christian often makes it that much harder. Take comfort in the fact that every Christian has to continue to live in their fleshly bodies. Ephesians Ch.6 V12 might help you to understand your situation as before we were saved we didn't seem to have these problems or if we did it didn't worry us. Thankfully our salvation doesn't depend on us overcoming anything as Jesus did all that for us. He overcame Sin, The flesh, the world, Satan, death and hell all of which we are powerless to overcome in our own strength so our victory lies totally in him!Don't let this derail you as we all struggle with the flesh and there are some things in my life I may never overcome but I have learned not to let that hinder my service to the lord as after all, If I could overcome all these things I wouldn't need Jesus any more. Consider the Apostle Paul, He was having his share of struggles with the flesh also as we read in Romans Ch.7 V13-25. Note also in galatians Ch.5 V7 where it is shown that when a person is saved and nthe Holy Spirit is within that person then the Spirit and the flesh are not compatable as one wars against the other. Take heart as your experience is nothing new and all you can do is leave it with the Lord and move on in your Christian walk as he understands the struggle you are having with the flesh. I hope this has been of some assistance to you, I wish you well in the future and may The lord bless you.

I am not a Christian, so I am sorry if this is not the answer you are looking for, but Muslims fast and avoid situations which could lead to lust or temptation to deal with these sorts of problems.

If you fast or even just make an effort to eat less then these sort of desires will naturally diminish.

And of course the most important thing is to seek help from God, as many others have mentioned.

I hope that helps.

I must disagree with the bulk of the previous respondents. I do not believe 'fighting' the urge is going to help you. Fighting something like lust only gives it power over you, and focuses your attention on it.
I would recommend striving to seperate lust from your asthetic sense. It isn't a bad thing to appreciate beauty, in fact it is one of the purest ways to appreciate Gods work. If you find beauty in a mountain range or a sunset, focus on how that makes you feel, and try to see those who inspire lust in you thru a gentler focus, similar to how you precieve other beautiful things, like a flower, or a childs smile.
In this way you can internalize your baser urges, and turn them outwards as an expression of love for the Lord.

Temptation comes in various forms and there are lots of ways to fight it off... however... there is one sure fire way that never fails:

IT IS WRITTEN...

When Jesus was in the wilderness (after his baptism, he went off to fast for 40 days)... afterward he was hungry and was tempted by the Devil... he was tempted in three different ways and each time his response began with IT IS WRITTEN... which was immediately followed up with an appropriate scripture... Here's the fun part... you have to KNOW scripture in order to be able to pull that one off... and oddly enough, trying to find the answer to your problem will help solve your problem...

Start studying the Word... not just reading it... STUDY it... cross reference, grab some history books... get a couple of different translations... keep an encyclopedia handy... watch Rod Parsely and TD Jakes

I know this sounds like a silly response... but it rings true. The Bible says "my people perish for lack of knowledge". You can't use the Bible to fight off temptation unless you know the Bible...

And let's be honest... there are just some things that are harder to do with the voice of TD Jakes rattling in your head.

You're not the first to have trouble with lust... and you won't be the last... the question is... how long will you put up with being controlled by an impulse?

It is normal and part of life to feel TEMPTED by lustful desires, but it is a sin to follow through with them or entertain the thought. As soon as a lustful thought comes into our mind we need to change our thoughts. It helps to start thinking about your favorite thing, or something really gross, either way to help chase the thought away. The more you try to control it the easier it will become to do so and the harder it will be to let those evil thoughts get out of control.
Remember to control the thought first, then the action will not follow, because it's impossible to DO something without having thought of it first.

Good luck with it!
I overcame this prob, and it was hard, BUT SOOOO WORTH IT!!

Its human nature. Everyone gets horny. Ask any true christian. The thing that you have to do is.Go to church to ask god for forgivness cuz we are all sinners, thats what jesus diesd for. Then only have sex with ur marital partner. And try not to be so hard on urself.

Accept the fact that you're human, and are going to make mistakes. Then ask God to forgive you. If every day's not a challenge to get through, THEN there's a problem.

PRAY, PRAY, AND ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP YOU WITH THIS. YOUR STILL YOUNG, THESE KIND OF THINGS HAPPENS TO EVERYONE. WHAT GIVES ME HOPE IS THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DISCERNING RIGHT FROM WRONG AND ARE CONCERNED ABOUT OFFENDING THE FATHER AND BREAKING COMMUNION WITH HIM. MOST PEOPLE DON'T CARE OR LOVE OUR LORD AND LET THEIR MINDS WONDER OFF TILL' THEY ACT UPON THEIR TROUBLED THOUGHTS. JUST REMEMBER THAT WE ARE LIVING IN A SPIRITUAL BATTLE AND THAT GOD IS ALL POWERFUL AND LOVING. AS LONG AS WE ACCEPT HIM IN OUR LIFE AND SEEK HIM IN ALL THAT WE DO HE WILL GET US THROUGH ANYTHING, YOU'LL SEE. I JUST CONVERTED 3 YEARS AGO AFTER LIVING IN TOTAL DARKNESS, TO A POINT OF ALMOST TAKING MY LIFE AWAY. BOY DOES IT FEEL SAFE TO HAVE THE FATHER ON YOUR SIDE. LET'S CONTINUE TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT BRO!!! GOD BLESS!

Fight against it with the most powerful weapon we have as Christians, the Name of Jesus!!! Cast those thoughts away in Jesus' name, say the words out loud!
