they sell them at the Mormon temples.. they wear it as a guideline to what kind of clothing to wear (modesty..) ie: shorts that go almost to the knees.. no sleeveless tops. they still wear regular underwear.. the garments or as you say "special underwear" are clothing layer #2

Well, the garment is also spiritually symbolic, but it isn't for the world to see.
The garment is also a protection, both literally and metaphorically.
Yes, it is special, and only those that are worthy have the privilege of wearing it.

I heard it's like the armor of God to them and you only wear it in the temple. I just read this and it expalins some. We have mormon friends and all it is are white boxers and a white undershirt.

No, and isnt cleanliness next to Godliness? How can you get clean if you can't take off the clothes? And what if u lose or gain weight, can you just go pick up a new pair at wallmart? or do u have to go back tot he temple? My grandparent were high in the mormon church and wore the speacail temple underware.......WATCH "The God makers" and "The God Makers 2"

Mormons don't wear special underwear. They wear special helmets. Well, actually they only wear the special helmets when they are young.
