I like it. My dad used to make my sisters feel bad and one day my oldest sister told him off and we all applauded. So just do it. If he's mad, he's not right for you.

I have to reiterate what others have said WHY would you care?? You need to concentrate on how to know and love yourself in order to be loved by others. Do something for yourself, educate yourself, make yourself a future, set goals, follow them. If someone comes along who enjoys you for who you are ,then you can consider them as a potential for a relationship. Take an assertiveness class, go to some womens groups that emphasize empowerment. Anything! It does not become you to say such words.

It depends on how you stand up for yourself(don't overreact).Do not go bonkers - that could freak a guy out. By the the same token, don't wimp out entirely - the only guys that like a weeny aren't the kind of guys you'd want to be with(I'm thinking of the control freaks out there).

In answer to your question.. The men who love independent, strong, and smart women love the fact that women stand up for themselves. I mean, they don't have to worry about people running of them if he is not there. I feel that if any man is turned of by a stand up kind of women then he just wants someone who is weak and who he can control. No matter what you do always stand up for yourself. If you don't then who will. If he doesn't like the fact that you stand up for yourself then he needs to go find someone who is not as strong and independent as you.

Yeah, any guy worth being anywhere near would worry about a girl who didn't stand up for herself. If it turns him on, that's a major problem type of guy.

Always stand up for yourself, regardless of what guys might think, if they are turned off then they were just looking for a weak woman to control anyway and you don't want to be weak.

Who cares?! Why in the world would you even consider not standing up for yourself for fear of turning off a guy?!

It depends, many guys like an independent chick.
It's the controlling guys that hate it which is good because you DO NOT want to be with a controlling asshole.

it's always good when a woman feels assured about herself and is willing to defend her beliefs...as long as she doesn't make a big production of it...regardless of the intentions, that always ends up looking overly dramatic and b!tchy...

Who cares what a guy thinks. If you have to stick up for yourself then do it. Don't prove yourself to any guy because you want to impress him.
