heir_to_christ,
You are proven right. Many who call themselves Christian do not know how.
A Christian is someone who confesses that Jesus is Lord, and that He was resurrected from the dead. He was God manifested in the flesh, and provided salvation for the whole world. A Christian believes these things and had committed himself to trust God for His promises, "Forever oh Lord, Thy word is settled in Heaven. A Christian knows that he has the Holy Spirit living in him, and that he can pick a promise out of the Bible and hang his body on it, knowing that if God said it, it's true. A Christian defies the circumstances that appears to contradict God's word.
A Christian has put himself at the service to the Lord, recognizing God's ownership over all things in heaven, on earth, and under the Earth; it all belongs to Him.
What the Christian did in essence, is turn from his own ways, unto God's ways. And they are citizens of a heavenly kingdom, pilgrims on a journey, slaves to Christ, they are heirs to the Throne of Christ, by adoption, and they are the Children of the Living God.

The big thing I find wrong with Christianity is their strong belief in Jesus being a god. At most jesus was simply a messenger of god not meant to be worshipped. I think most of the stories in the bible are tales of folklore and completely fabricated. Isn't it funny how all these miraculous events happened in the past but not one happens today now that we have technology. The ones I'm talking about are like the splitting of rivers etc. I'm not saying that means there's not god, just people will believe an ideology even without any evidence.

I feel that christ walked this earth, he knew he could decieve folks with what he'd studied as a boy. He wanted people to do good; "love thy neighbor" "treat others as ye want to be treated" etc etc. He had the right message, but portrayed it in a completely delusional way.
Religion in general should be taken for the morals and values that it sets, not the "HOPE" "FAITH" "PRAYER" -- those 3 never solve anything. As a dying boy of cancer prays to his god, where's his hope? he knows he is going to die, the doctors tell him he's going to die, what does he have to look forward to? That's not hope, his prayers didnt work, and his faith is diminishing. Why would "GOD" make that his devine plan. It's a hoax, never been proven. There were prophets along the way who passed the story down and passed the story all the way until today. The "word of God" was written by MAN.
Now my denial of God does not make me a bad person. As I have read the bible many times, I used to be catholic. I took religion for the morals and values taught, much like aesopes fables. I treat others well, i am a good person, i don't knock christians or anyone's belief.
Think reasonably, rationally, and logically. Your conclusion will come to you.
And you christian's need to go talk to your Priests, Preachers and Ministers. Ask them about Osiris, Mistrha and Dionisis. They died "for the people" about 1500 years B.C.(Before Christ)
But christianity fails to mention them.
If you don't believe me research them on your own.
thanks for listening have a logical day

A Christian is one who follows in Christ's footsteps, even if that is a hardship for them.
A Christian shares what he believes.
Hebrews 10:25, 26 says that we should incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, encouraging one another, all the more so as we behold the day drawing nearer.

You can be brought up by monkeys but it won't matter. My mom is catholic but I am Wiccan. We have Foot Prints in the Sand, a tapestry of the last supper and one of Jesus Christ but after 16 years of that I became Wiccan.

No, I'm Wiccan because it fits my personal beliefs better. I'm glad for you, though, that you are taking what you believe to be true after thought into account, rather than claiming your religion simply because of upbringing or because you go to a particular building once or twice a week. Good for you!
