The semiconductor industry, they make tiny electronics on a wafer made from silicon, really cool.

I don't know who your audience is, but one topic that springs to mind is the physics of semiconductors, especially the difference between silicon and some of the later materials like GaAs. Or maybe you want to talk about the integration of electonics devices. For example, I've got computers, a phone, an answering machine, a fax/printer, a DVD/VHS player, a home theater receiver, a TV, electronic watches, radios, remotes, microwave controls, et cetera. Can we integrate these devices and their functions, or at least some of them?

If all else fails, go with the history of electronics. I'm sure you can find a good seminar in that subject.
