No. Definitely not. For one thing, there's a lot of things that are easier taught with a real live instructor. Additionally, Yahoo Answers is not set up for teaching things to people other than answering specific questions. In order to properly teach someone, there are certain things someone must be taught first. The things you learn in school build upon things that you've learned in the past. An organized system of taking classes in order and putting the lessons into practice is a very efficient way of learning things, which Yahoo Answers would not be able to replace. Another issue of importance is that the information taught is valid. Some of the people who answer questions here give biased and simply wrong information sometimes. The current education system may not be perfect, but it has a lot of features that Yahoo Answers would not be able to replace.

You always get more than 10 answers for every question, each with a different opinion and some even contradict the other with enough justification and proof to get you so confused that you'd want to see others vote for the best answer instead of you choosing any!

It won't replace the educational system, it helps you connect with others, and it boosts your confidence to stand up and ask questions that you might feel dumb asking elsewhere..

PERISH THE THOUGHT!!!!!! Yahoo Answers has just shown me how desperate the state of the education system is. If anything, it is an argument for more and longer school days and more homework.

What I see on here is disgusting, grammar and spelling are atrocious. And people don't help kids with their homework, they do it for the kids. Which is not helping the kid at all.

Education system? when I see some of the questions on here I wonder about the education system in our schools.
"Did dinosaurs really exist" "Does homogenised milk come from bulls?"
Nearer to home. I called into my local newsagent's recently and asked the young girl who was working there for half a dozen postage stamps. She gave me a funny look, turned to her boss and said "Mary, what's half a dozen mean?"

No. Yahoo Answers will never be popular enough. Myspace is the only site that could possibly do it.

except for the part where we have to "read" and "sepll"....i mean "spell"

look at some of assimov's early work and you may find a interesting, if not slightly disturbing pattern with today, and his storylines.
