That's not true. Sheesh, the lies that get spread around it's unbelievable. Come to Canada, don't worry about it. Just be nice and polite and you won't have a single problem.
I am guessing that Americans who would have gotten spit in their food had been extremely rude to the waiters.

Who on earth told you that? I'm American and just spent a lovely evening with a Canadian woman friend, drinking wine and eating peaches and talking about the world in general. Spitting in food was not one of the topics. Good grief.

Well I live in Canada, and I think the majority of us are very peaceful loving individuals. I do not see a lot of hatred towards the Americans. Perhaps some do not agree with your President and his choices, but no hatred here. In fact most, I think would be very intrigued to talk to you and get to know you.

na... that's not true most Canadian have relatives in American...and would love to travel the states.. I THINK IT WOULD FUN!!
Canada is multicultural too...especially in Toronto.
Going down town is also fun..you can check out the CN tower, AGO (art gallery of Ontario), the ROM,..and etc....Canadians aren't like...must of them aren't even born in Canada or the parents aren't,...it's a fact but.....
AND...spiting in food ewwwwwww..that's just gross who would be hate-ful enough to do that cuz someone is American.... :) good luck

I'm Canadian, and no, we don't hate Americans . You are more than welcome here. Toronto's great, go to the C.N. Tower, Canada's Wonderland...there's so much there! Please, be our guest...
btw, feel free to contact me if you need some info. (ie: you don't need to learn french, lol! we are mostly english,besides Quebec. We have bilingualism, but english is the first language, you won't run into any problems there.)
