Would you want to take a chance of them getting out and killing someone you know?
Also it would save the people of the loved ones they murdered from spending time in jail because they did it themselves.
It's called an eye for an eye.

Because when we kill them they never do it again, not to mention the fact that when there thinking about killing someone they might think twice if it may mean there own life.

if there wasnt life in prision or the death penalty than we would all have killed by now, harsh rules for a very bad crime, human nature must be controlled with instilled values backed by fear of repercusion
