Everyone needs First Aid knowledge...even young school age children. Even if all they know is how to call 911 and give the best information possible. So yes it is a life-skill.

First Aid is definitely a life skill. It's the initial aid that gets received until that person can be seen by a trained professional. Who cares about saving other people(too many suing), it can save your life someday. I know it's helped me quite often with some of my own injuries.

not many people know how to administer First Aid, and it is not always common sense.

If you are thinking of taking a first aid class, you should! One day you will use it and you will be glad you took it. Besides, you will learn a lot of other things in First Aid class... like how not to PANIC!!!
