It's a relationship just like any other. Most of the obstacles you'll encounter will be ones that you two create. Just pay no mind to anyone who gives you $hit about it and you won't have a problem.

I could say something lame that won't help you at all like "skin color doesn't matter" or I can just say what I actually know. My sister (white) is going out with a black guy.

They are engaged but they fight non-stop.

Here are the big issues from her side of the story
He's always late getting home from work, by a large amount of time
He's selfish/thinks of himself
He doesn't know anything about money and is wasteful
He gets ready for things like a girl, taking an hour or more, ironing, being in front of a mirror, picking out clothes, etc.
There are also a million little things.

I don't want to blame him for all the problems, I'm just giving you her complaints. Maybe you won't have these problems. She is very hard to get a long with.

The fighting keeps getting worse the farther along it goes. I don' have problems with the guy, but I don't think this will make it. Maybe it will.

I have always said interracial relationships require two very strong people. And in any relationship, the man has to love you more than you love him or it won't work. So for you, my advice is your man has to be strong and committed and you have a chance. It all depends on how he feels. It's obvious how you feel. My mama told me not to date a man you wouldn't marry. And never marry a man you would have his kids. I have date black men since 1983. And I never married, because I never found all these criteria lined up. I wish you luck and happiness!

a lasting marriage isnt based on skin color, it doesnt matter what color he is as long as ya'll both are willing to do what it takes to make the marriage work. the only obsticles other than that will be dealing with other peoples views of you two if you can block that out and still support one another you guys will be fine. my sister married a white man and have been married for 15 years happily so good luck with that

If that's what you want then go for it. People need to realize that it is what it is.

youre thinking too much about the racial issue and not concentrating on the relationship. Makes me wonder if youre doing it for the attention.
Its doomed.
