Soak it in warm water and epsom salts. That will help a lot.

Believe it or not when I was younger I had minor surgery for my ingrown toenail 3 times! "Not fun" After they remove the Nail the doctor always said that there was a chance the nail would not grow back, it always did, and eventually I was stuck with the same problem. Until....

I finally went to a different doctor ready for him to tell me that I was going to need another surgery. He explained to me that what causes your toenail to curve downward into the skin is the thickness of the center part of your nail. He said to take a nail file and file down the center of your toenail until it is not so thick. Eventually the nail will not dig down into your skin. I did it and it worked! I haven't had a problem since.

At the time that I did this the nail was already imbedded into my toe. After filing the nail really well the nail eventually came out. So if you are at this stage first try filing it and if it does not get better within 2 weeks you will probably have to get it out via surgery.

If the toenail is a little bit ingrown, you can put a small piece of cotton, like a small piece of a cotton ball, under it to help lift it up as it grows out. And don't cut your toenails so short in the future.

If the toenail is really ingrown, you might need help from a podiatrist.

you need to go to your doctor and get it fix. don't wait til it's all infected coz then u might lose the whole toe. if i were u..i'd soak it with warm water and clean it with hydrogen peroxide. you can also try icing it to prevent swelling and it will numb the pain a lil bit. u can use tylenol to ease the pain a bit..but i'd call the doctor first thing monday morning if i were u.

file the center of the toenail to relieve the pressure and make the sides come up from the skin
