Much as I hate to admit it, we seem to be stuck. I know it can't go on forever. I wonder if we will have choppers lifting frantic citizens out of the Green Zone as we did when we were evacuating the American Embassy in 1975.

We don't. We might as well settle in. This is going to be a long one. Too late to leave, that would make things worse, too bad to stay, things are still getting worse. We may never leave! Only immediate evacuatoin of friendly troops and nuclear assault will solve that problem, but that is unthinkable for todays governments.

1. Polls are for the brainless.

2. What part of longhaul didn't sink into your head when the war on terror started.

3. Using today's logic as stated by you, we should have surrendered to Japan and Germany in 1942 or 43 since the war had been going on so long.

4. When the choppers evac'd the embassy in Saigon we had been out of the war for around 2 years or so.

Actually this is the perfect time to have a real politician in office not a stumbler bumbler who no other countries respect. The reality is that (my little opinion, I'm going to add) we should have been schmoozing with our potential enemies while all this SH**T was going on, and be making trades right and left to insure that they would stick with us if things turned south. So instead of behaving like we were the answer to everything, we should have been courting Turkey, Pakistan, Iran (OK I might re neg on that) Countries close to Iraq that would be willing for a price to keep an eye on Iraq while we started letting our troops go home. We should NOT have shut ourselves off from working with China and Russia to ensure that the largest populous of prospective armies would be on our side. Just an idea

1. Convert to radical Islam and renounce western culture and values.

2. Die

3. Win the war

Your choice.

If it comes to cut and run like 1975 we will not have option of just accepting a bunch of Iraqi “boat people”. We will have to deal with the blood of thousands of Iraqi civilians on our hands. It will be worst than the abandonment of the Vietnamese in 1975 and in embolden radical element who will bring the insurgency to our shores until we either do 1 or 2. No amount of dialog or understanding will stop them.

Yeah don't be a wuss, we need to stick it out. As far as us leaving that will never happen, we will always have some base there just like in Japan and Germany.

We could end it quickly if we would grow a pair and fight like we really mean it and stop worrying about offending everyone and their mother.

we could simply end the war by introducing us a new disease. such after the vietnam war we got introduce the AIDS and HIV. The Persian Gulf war we got people sick and we call it iraq syndrone or something like. We could end this war by simply say is Global Warming and we cannot let it happen we need to work together as a whole and stop it.

Don't believe the polls, they're biased. If the polls were accurate, Gore or Kerry would be president. I love how you libs want to turn this into Vietnam.

Most Americans have thought that ALL WARS are bad. That does not mean they do not think some are necessary or that you should not win them, if you are in them. No, I'm afraid you are mistaken if you think all Americans want to cut & run.

get a new president.

But i doubt even then we will be able to pull out. It all depends on certian circumstances, like if Iraq will be able to pull its own, defend itself and not get overthrown as soon as we leave.
