ok, so yesterday i asked if a guy liked me because i had thought he did, but then he stopped talking to me.... then today(a day before the dance) he starts up again... i caught him starring at me, he would find any possible way to touch me (like put his hand on my sholder, or would tap me as he would walk by) he was laughing at me in class today, then asked if i was going to the dance, and when i answered yes... he smiled and said cool.
The point is, we have been friends for like four years... so it seems a little akward to me, plus, all my friends tell me not to go out with him no matter what. Im afraid he might ask me out at the dance, and right now im having mixed fellings. I dont want to ruin our friendship.
what should i do?

why are your friends telling you not to go out with him? two of my really good friends went through that and they ended up going out and now they've broken up, but they're still really great friends. go to the dance with him! it might be fun =)

We've(me and my best friend Summer) have been in many situations like this b4 and we think u should give it a go!!! If he asks u out make sure that he promises that when u break up that u will ALWAYZ be best friendz!!!! I have seen 2 many friendships busted up by ppl thinkin they like each other and goin out and then breakin up and hatin each other!!! PLZ B CAREFUL WHAT U DO

Why not go out and just let it be known that you are interested, BUT want to keep things on a non-personal level. You know, keep it as friends.
If your friendship is a strong one, then going out won't be a problem.
I dated my friend....got engaged....split up...but remained best friends for over 30 years.

He only wants you when the time and place is convenient for him.......he won't take you out and show you off to his friends and buds....he will only want you late one night when no one else is around and he's horny. LOSE HIM!!!!! You could end up one of those girls found out on a lonely highway"dumped" off after being raped and tortured by someone like this guy.
