I see all the additives to flush the engine out. The "5 minute engine flush" treatment, and Duralube has one as well as Slick 50. Have also heard that dumping some brake fluid or somethin into the crankcase for 5 minutes before an oil change will loosen all the carbon deposits. Any other suggestions?

Boy that is a new one on me.
What part of the engine do you want to flush, the water or the oil
If you want to flush the water get DuPont 7 . This is the best I have found.
Follow the directions and then when it is all clean inside the water jackets, put in distilled water and antifreeze.
Dis-trilled water will not eat the hoses and it will not rust, as there is no minerals to make it rust.

If you want to flush out the oil, put in a good motor flush for the oil, and then follow the instructions . Then give it a good oil change and by all means put on a good first quality oil filter( not a fram) An ac oil filter, or say a napa gold. These are the best oil filters on the market.

Thank you for your question
