Mickey Mantle's on 59th is really good - it's a sporty place, but not like a sport's bar.
Hard Rock Cafe on 7th is really good, too, and fun.
Probably the most fun place, though, is Ellen's Stardust Diner, also on 7th. It looks a little like a greasy spoon on the outside, but the food isn't that bad. It's not the food that makes it good, however - it's the atmosphere. The waitstaff sings all the time - mostly jazzy stuff, but depending on the situation they'll do more recent picks (they did a little "Rent" and "1 2 Step" by Ciara when I was there with a school group). Definitely go there.
