Why would some souls/energy hang around earth after death?

Question

Some believe soulds go to heaven after they die, do these people believe in after death or "ghostly" experiences? If so, why would these peoples souls hang around earth? And some believe the "soul" is an energy that gets released after death, why would it hang in the same form to be "seen" or "felt" or experienced by people who know them or even sometimes people who did not know them? I am just curious as to what people's beliefs are on this subject. Are "sightinings" in a person's mind because they miss that person and if this is the reasoning why do people have sightings of people they have never met??

An explanation for ghosts--the non-physical-object-moving kind, often called spectres--that I think holds a lot of weight is that they are the imprints of the electrical pulses of the brain during an incredibly traumatic time, so traumatic that the electrical impulses were actually recorded somehow in the area surrounding the person. I don't think that the air would have been a very good medium for imprinting, but stone walls, furniture, etc would be very plausible items. Many people get "feelings" from objects that are old and have interesting histories. I think it's the same sort of thing, only more pronounced because the person was going through some sort of stress.

no one quite knows what occurs after demise. There are some which have had close to-demise reviews. Many, (even with faith), have had powerful reviews with going to the mild or what no longer even as others have lengthy gone to hell. There are also those that position self assurance in ghosts, spirits that stay in the international because they could't or received't omit to the different international. yet besides, no longer understanding for confident what occurs after demise is probable between the flaws that sucks the most about life.

have you encountered a Jehoveh's Witness? they really have a very satisfying answer to this question. soul does'nt hang around earth. when you die, your soul also die. so as the spirit. when you die, the spirit within you also die. the belief that there is a soul that hangs around earth and they can affect us is not from the bible. the bible states that there are bad angels or demons leaded by satan who wants you to believe that there is. and for you to believe that, this bad angels create events, sightings etc. remember that they have also powers that we dont have.

Two reasons:

1) They don't know they're dead! Their death might have been such a sudden thing, they didn't even realize it.

2) A love one behind (e.g. a child) is strongly wishing the deceased weren't so, and that keeps the soul in the void.

Eventually they go to the Light.

if I were dead, and i had some old scores to settle, I would,and i would want to watch my loved ones,especially my kids, grow up. And to haunt ppl,and to mess with their minds! some souls want to be here to get some stuff they left behind, or if they were murdered,to have the murder solved... I have never seen a ghost, but I can tell you that my bedroom is always the coldest in the house, and i sometimes smell sulphur ( like a lit match) sometimes.

I believe the soul/energy does hang around after death...When my youngest brother died, he came to me and told me I didn't have to rush to come see him anymore, everything is alright now.
I then saw him again while in flight to go see him..I refused to acknowledge either of those things happening until after I arrived and was then told he had died while I was still packing for my 6 hour flight to go see him...I next saw him at the funeral parlor, he kept saying to me, Hey look at her! referring to one or another of the grievers who had shown up, he was actually enjoying himself.
I also saw my best friend after he died on our living room sofa...He stood next to me as I held his body..he had died in the 9 minutes it had taken me to go pick up our mutual friend/next door neighbor....I saw him again when he woke me telling me I needed to get up and get to the funeral home because people were there and getting tired of waiting for me...I think some hang around until they know that things have been done the right way, (the way they believe them to be), and that the others that are still here are here to help those of us that need them, known or not....last time I saw my brother and my best friend, they were both teaching a class of children something but I couldn't concentrate on what the class was because both were wearing clothing that neither would have been "caught dead in while alive", sorry but that's not meant to be funny, just very true....

Most of these souls are earthbound yet as they either don't know that their physical body died or that they are still content to go around as if they were still alive.
Others are waitng for something or want to stay on this side thinking that they can be of more help to their families that way.
