Try warming good quality virgin olive oil n gentley rubbing the comfortably warm oil into ur scalp. Be fairly generous with the amount u use n take the time to gently massage ur scalp all over, after application. Leave it for approx 30 mins or as long as is comfortable for u (no less than 10 mins). Wash ur hair with a gentle shampoo and conditioner afterwards. Refrain from blow drying ur hair for a lil while to give ur scalp a chance. This also helps make ur hair shiny. Have fun!

Dandruff is excessive flaking of dead skin that forms on the scalp.
Dandruff is caused by a dry scalp.
Dry scalp can be caused by many things including hard water.
Check your water, see if it is too hard (high in mineral content). You may want to try adding water softener in your system. Water softener reduces the calcium or magnesium ion concentration in hard water.
Also, be generous when shampooing your hair. Massage the shampoo onto your scalp, but do not use force. Shampoo twice if you have to. It will leave your scalp much healthier.
Try it for a week, you should feel a difference.

It depends on whether you really have dandruff.
Dandruff is a condition that is actually caused by a fungal infection of the scalp. Anti-dandruff shampoos contain antifungal agents that help your body to fight off the fungus better.
Many people who think they have "dandruff" actually have dry scalp, which is simply that the skin is flaking off the scalp because it is dry. In the case of dry scalp, using harsh shampoos that dry out the scalp more will actually make it worse. My cosmetologist friend recommends washing your hair every other day to try to cut down on this problem.

Well, I still suggest you continue using your anti-dandruff shampoo, but after showering try blow drying your hair. It shakes out some excess dandruff which might help day after day. Also, when showering make sure to really rinse your hair. Scrub it, and whatever else the shampoo directions say to do that no one really pays attention to. =)

Beast way is massaging the scalp with a bristle brush, don't scrape the hell outta it, but do it regularly. It will take a while and looks worse at first cos you are loosening all the crud off.
