the problem is all though butter is fattening and therefore bad for cholestrol etc, the marg spreads are full of additives and other stuff which is bad for you.
the best alternative ive found so far is clover, it tastes good and has a lot less nasty ingredients compared to other spreads.
maybe however the best thing would be do use organic butter sparingly.
it makes me so mad that all these so called healthier foods are contaminated with e numbers etc

there is no real low fat fat. Butter is a fat, margerine is a fat, spreads are fats. You could try using olive oil on your bread. Personally I don't thing that butter is terrible and it certanly has not got lots of addatives and nasty things in like trans fatty acids.
Use butter but don't spread it thick and reduce your intake of fats in the rest of your diet.
If you want to reduce your fat because of a weight problem, still use butter but avoid snacks and ready meals which are really high in fat. Eat bakery whole grain bread instead of white packet bread.
I eat butter on my sandwiches but also have a healthy diet. Lots of veggies and grilled lean meat and balance it with moderate exersize and am the same weight now at 51 as I was at aged 21.

Use the real thing on toast. In cooking they make a butter spray without all the fat and calories, like Pam, but the generic is just as good. Margarine is only one molecule away from plastic, by the way. I don't use it at all. I hope this helps.

No such product, we have gone back to real butter. What is the point of eating healthily if it all tastes like crap?
If you are an health freak all you need to do is spread the butter more thinly!

"I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" is the best. It doesn't taste any different than butter like all the margarines do. It's also very healthy for you.

I love Brummel and Brown's "yogurt butter"...it seriously tastes like the real thing, plus it is low fat/calories and has no trans fat! I've got my butter-lovin' boyfriend hooked!

olive oil. try the different ones, some are strong and peppery, others are smooth and sophisticated. Great with cheese.
butter - to use less, take some out of the fridge and leave it on a plate to soften before you need it. When it is hard we tend to use big lumps instead of spreading a small amount.

Tasty?-sorry nothing.-Maybe olive oil-rub bread with garlic then spray w olive oil.
Hommous, pesto, avocado, cottage cheese, lowfat soya mayonnaise-all tasty but there is NO substitute for real butter
BUT---if you quit butter and other fats after a few days you won't even miss it.
