I'm not a fan of fad diets. They're difficult to maintain for a lifetime, and that is what a healthy eating plan should be!

Replace the junk in your diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. Avoid sugar, and limit fats (make sure you keep some healthy source of fat in your diet, like avocado or olive oil).

Don't skip meals-- it's better to eat more often throughout the day, but smaller amounts. This will keep your blood sugar more stable so you don't have spikes in energy and don't get really hungry (which can cause you to binge)

Also, increase your exercise. It boosts your metabolism so you burn more calories even when at rest!

Eliminate almost all refined sugars and drink only water and you will lose weight a lot quicker and safer than 99.9% of all diets available. After the first week, it will seem very natural to you. The water will taste good and you won't miss the sugar. You will feel energetic and over all a lot better.

This means eating a lot less processed foods.

Honey is a good substitute for refined sugar, but go easy on it.

Make sure you get a good balance of all the food groups.

Drink plenty of water, 64 oz per day. Eat whole grains and vegetables. These are high in fiber, and therefore will make you feel full, but your body can not store much as fat.

You may need to transition slowly to this diet if you have a weak digestive system, as the fiber will "scrape" through you instead of sticking to your intestines. However, assuming that you do not already have permanent damage in your digestive system, eventually your body will adapt and you will feel no discomfort eating this diet.

To lose weight and maintain it, you should reduce your calories intake. One way is to cut back on rice, reduce your portion.

I eat only a cup (200 ml size) of rice a day - usually during lunch, and eat more proteins, lean meat, vegetables, fruits. Drink 8-10 glasses of plain water every day to cleanse your system. Exercise 30 minutes, 7 days a week (simple stretching Yoga exercises, brisk-walk).

I lost 4 kilos in 4 weeks in the initial stage and adjusted my diet plan to maintain my weight. It works and it wasn't difficult.

Omit white flour and white sugar from your diet. Smaller portions. Eat 5-6 small meals each day. Drink lots of water and exercise daily
