If the sender of the document (.pdf) does not want the receiver to make changes in the document, the sender prefers to send the document in .pdf (acrobat) format.
For example, a priced quotation of vendor or supplier, Sub-contract agreements of contractors or technical datasheets of any devices or products can be in acrobat format (.pdf) for fear of changes in the contents ( if written in any other format like .doc or .xls and sent electronically to the recipient) and unnecessary claims by the end user.
Hence the sender of the .pdf file usually install Acrobat Full version software which convert any document into .pdf format.
Using the Acrobat Reader, one can read only the file, can not make any changes therein.
Hope I answered your question, atleast partially.

Acrobat Reader is designed to read PDF documents. PDF documents are files that can have anything from text to graphics in them and as long as you have Acrobat Reader, you can view them all. PDF is Portable Document Format.
Unlike Microsoft Word files, you don't have to have any kind of special costly program to read these documents, Adobe provides a reader free to everyone.

confident, you could uninstall Reader 5, because of the fact which you have the greater moderen version, and you will shop disk area. don't be afraid, by making use of uninstalling it you will no longer impression your computer. the only undertaking you should difficulty approximately is the "shared information", once you install yet another Adobe utility, the two softwares use some gadget information, subsequently, once you uninstall between the classes, it is going to look a message that announces "Shared information: right here information .... in case you uninstall it this is that different applications won't artwork precise " you could decide on the alternative "No" or "No to all". Then this gadget would be uninstalled.

It is used to read files written in *.pdf extension. It is more flexible than MS-Word and can convert other extension files to pdf format and vice-versa. It is one of the best text-editors out there.
You can download a 30-day free trial version from the following link:
