Why can’t school offer more choices of languages? I have heard of German, French and Spanish. Why can’t we have sign language? We have separate sign languages schools for the deaf. But speaking people can't attend there. I have family that is deaf and wished I had the chance to learn from public school instead of having to pay for it in college. I would like it for high school to have that as a choice, what do you think?

I think that's a great idea. You should definitely suggest it to the school board. However, I don't know if they're going to take your suggestion, because they might not want to try to find enough money to pay ASL teachers.

Yes it is offered in some high schools around the USA. It really varies and depends on the school board. That is something that has to be recommended to them, I think with a petition maybe? There has to be enough interest and funds in the budget to justify the cost of adding this course. I mean what are the chances of a person using German in the USA as opposed to ASL?? ASL is used in the USA more than German. That can be a good argument.

Community colleges teach ASL and are not that expensive as opposed to state colleges.

I agree with you. Attend the next school board meeting for you district (their open to the public) and address your concerns. You never know. Perhaps you may bring about change.
