She doesnt want to get too close because its possible that her last relationship was very intense and she ended up getting hurt. Don't get clingy. She doesnt want to fall in love too fast. Take it slow and it'll gradually build up. Same thing happened with me but unfortunately the relationship got very intense wayyyy too early and btw im in h.s.

It probably means that she still has feeling for the other person and is still grieving the loss of that relationship. She needs time to put the other relationship behind her so that she can open up again and build a new relationship with someone else.
Have patience but beware of being the "rebound guy."

Find out if it's OK to call her to find out how she is doing and tell her you like her too. Do not get into why she is out a relationship or the gory details.
