When my husband and I got married last July, we appreciated the cash more. We used any cash we received for our honeymoon. People say that cash is a bad idea because it might get stolen, but trust me-the envelopes are watched and usually under lock and key. If you still prefer to write a check, use can use either the bride's name or the groom's-or just write "cash". Believe me, the happy couple will not care who's name it is in. We received checks with his name, my maiden name, my new last name, both of our names together, and cash. Do whatever is easiest for you. Hope this helped out.

A check is safer, but really only something to worry about if you're mailing the card. If you're going to the wedding and will hand her the card, cash is always nice. Who couldn't use more cash on their honeymoon? Most couple leave for their honeymoon pretty quickly after the wedding and won't have time to stop at the bank to cash checks. If the bank will even allow them to cash them. Many times personal checks have a three day waiting period.

Well since you dont really know if they have a joint account maybe you should just give cashe. Because if it is a wedding gift it is for both of them and you couldnt just write the check out to one of them unless you want to give them a check a piece and what if they dont have a checking account to begin with? Give them cash, My firined is getting married and theywould rather have cash in a nice little envelope or card.

When giving a check, make it out to Mr. & Mrs. Jones for a romantic look, or their names seperatley George and Sarah Jones for more practical.

Either cash or check is fine, it's up to what you feel more comfortable giving. I think a check is better since cash can be lost or stolen easily.

Cash is best, but if you are going to do a check it should be payable to Mr & Mrs. Many couples rely on the wedding gifts for spending money on their honeymoon. Checks will wait until they get back.

I've gone to many many many weddings. Cash is ok, but I was always concerned it could be ..um...stolen. A check is pretty safe, make it out to both husband and wife (ie Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones). They will figure out later how to use it. I've never had a problem with this.

Make it out to either the bride or groom. I'm sure both of them have a bank account. Cash is probably best because it doesn't involve anyone going to the bank to cash it.

Maybe you should make it out to cash as the couple may not have a bank account in joint names to cash it otherwise. Have you considered a gift voucher instead?
