It says that it's better for long trips, avoiding dirty public restrooms, long lines that make women miss shows, etc. It also has quotes from women (ages 20's and 30's) saying how dry they feel and quiet and the material is thin, no odor, no one knows, etc.

The author of the article quotes someone from Kimberly Clark (they make Depends) saying that about 5-10% of their customer service calls are from women like this. They have no incontinent problem at all.

Anyone heard of this? Any ladies using them? I'm now actually thinking about trying it.

I don't see where sitting my own filth would be convenient. I'd rather squat over a toilet or behind a bush.

Why not try it? On heavy days, pads can leak and cause accidents, an adult brief covers a larger area and would be more absorbent for those days.

As far as wearing them to concerts or shows or anywhere there is a large crowd and sparse restrooms, it makes sense.

It always seems unfair that there isn't any line for the men's restroom but the ladies room has a line snaked out into the lobby and around the corner as everyone takes their time going.

You miss half the show or game or whatever and if you are lucky, you don't wet yourself before you get to the ladies room.

Worse yet is traveling. I hate going into the restrooms at most rest stops, especially the smaller ones. It seems that no one ever cleans the stalls.

So many times I've gone in and the seats are dirty with urine spots. . . . or worse. Half the time the commodes are backed up and full of waste and toilet paper, I sure don't want to sit down on any of them.

Even worse is being caught between rest stops on a long deserted stretch of highway and having to go so bad my eyeballs are floating.

Wearing a wet diaper that is designed to pull the urine away from the body so you don't feel it is more palatable than trying to hold it and having my muscles hurt from doing so and having to wait until I find another dirty restroom.

It definitely is something I would do if the need arose. It just makes good common sense to do so. Why should I have to suffer for someone else not doing their job of cleaning the restroom or not providing enough stalls to accomodate the crowd?

The only thing I would suggest though is to buy a well fitting cloth diaper or two for this purpose rather than throwing disposables into our landfills.

Enjoy.

I can't imagine, I'm a nurse, and I can tell you that after awhile, diapers smell, and that urine, if left on skin can cause some serious skin breakdown and discomfort. And diapers leak, especially adult one's that have to hold adult size voiding.. I guess if one goes, then changes it promptly, ready for the next time, it could work. I guess they use the diaper instead of the toilet.
I've been some places that I need to go so bad, I was ill from it, and could not find a clean toilet, or the line was so long I might as well go home. Then I wish I had a diaper! But I do not know anyone who admits to doing this, nor do I use them.

Talk about the epitome of laziness!! I have not heard that one before. You just sit there and let it go right in the diaper?
Those diapers seem heavy to me. They are not light and thin.

I have a leakage problem, it just comes with age. I could probably have it repaired surgically. A bad experience keeps me from taking that road. Anyway, as a result, I have to wear pads. That is bad enough but adult diapers? I don't think so.......You young ones should be glad you have control.

The only time I have done anything like that was when I was pregnant years ago and have an incontinence problem that can happen with pregnancy sometimes but I wouldn't do it now because the way I see it when we get old and can't do for ourselves and wearing diapers will be our only options,I'm trying to enjoy as many underwear days as I can and God bless the ones who can't do for themselves any longer.

I think this is one more example of how lazy people really are.
I would never do this. I think it is slovenly and disgusting. Even animals won't sit in their own waste. Ladies I don't think we need to resort to this. Those of you that have and are thinking about it, I hope I never have to sit beside you. Regardless of what the article say's , there is an odor. I took care of the elderly for year's. You will be wearing a diaper soon enough.

I haven't heard of using them just out of sheer laziness, but it seems to me to be slippery slope here (no pun intended) like when I started wearing reading glasses and then really needed them and then HAD to get script glasses. I would start this Depends thing as a "well I could make better time if I don't have to stop" then "It's just really convenient to be able to pee whenever you want to" to "I can't go anywhere without my Depends! we have to stop at Sav on before our trip!" and then "I'm going to bed now, oop, hold on, got to do the old Depends thing, I don't know how I used to get through the night without them!" I'm going to be old enough without resorting to diapers for grown-ups!

That doesn't sound very sanitary. I would hate that. You'd be wet all the time. I'd rather just make the trip to the bathroom and wait for a clean one if I have to. I don't even use sanitary pads because it's like wearing a diaper. Your skin it wet all the time and it chafes.

No, never heard of that. I would never consider using adult diapers unless necessary. I would be too concerned about leaking and messy changing. It's bad enough to deal with periods. Also I love wearing pretty undergarments, so wearing a diaper would put an end to all of that.

I know that the odor thing is wrong. Taking care of patients, I have first hand knowledge that depends do not stop odor. Good for absorbency, but not much on the oh so fresh side.

UGH! Now let me get this straight????????? They would rather sit in their own sh i t???????????? I wouldn't recommend sitting in your urine for too long either. The acid in there will cause a nice reaction later on. For that matter why would you want to sit in a wet diaper? This is really amazing, that anyone would want to do this? There is something in the Carol Wright catalog you can use and it's for women who want to go to the bathroom on a long trip. It's a see-thru plastic thing that fits over their p----- and they can urinate in it with out the urine spilling out.
