The Bible says that the fool is saying in his heart there is no God. The reason that people do not want to acknowledge the existence of the Almighty is that they do not want to be accountable for what they have done in their lives. If they acknowledge the Lord, they have to also acknowledge that they will be accountable to Him. The Bible says that all must stand before the throne to give an account for what he has done while he was still in the body.
Just because they do not think there is a hell does not mean they will not arrive there someday! God's judgment is not contingent on what a person thinks!

I have thought about these things before, and every time I do, I have to sincerely reject the idea of such a restrictive god who would condemn people on a whim (seen more in the old testament than the Christian books, although I believe there is still whim involved) or give people who have done attrocious things but sincerely repent in the end an eternity of happiness. I mean, really, while I'm as glad for rehabilitation as any one else, especially sincere rehabilitation, I do think that actions should have consequences, and if they aren't felt in this life, they should definitely be felt in whatever comes next, if there is anything, whether it's a heaven/hell situation or another life as a human or something else.
Also, there is order in science, as well. Granted, that could have been started and maintained by some sort of Deity. My own personal beliefs say that it was. However, you can't use that and the supposedly universal laws throughout our world as proof of your religious views because those "universal laws" aren't universal at all. Different societies can have moral laws that are the exact opposite of each other. Traffic laws vary from country to country. I should know, I've lived in several, and it's very confusing. Face it, this world may have SOME order, but it doesn't have nearly as much as you're attributing it with. That is because we have free will to act as we feel we should.
Now, those free actions can be restricted through culture, upbringing, experience, etc., but that same free will also gives us the right to choose our religious beliefs as we see fit. If we are, indeed, in denial, there is no reason for you to try to shove it in our faces in such a rude manner. You sound like you think that you're superior to everyone who doesn't think exactly like you do, and I have some food for thought for YOU.
Those who have to prove that they are superior to others often feel exactly the opposite on the inside, and that's why they strain so hard. Just live your life and let others live theirs. I guarentee you we'd all be happier with the results.

Actually no person is entitled to this kind of irrational, superstitious beliefs. There is no god, no heaven or hell, or any of that other silly sh^t, and if you want to understand the world in which you live accurately, you must outgrow all the god stuff.
You are not entitled to those beliefs inside your own mind, for the same reason you may not abuse your child because the child is a member of your private family. Child abuse is a community issue, just as the abuse of knowledge by screening it with superstition and irrational beliefs damages the entire community.
The human race has developed science and rational thought so that we could understand the true nature of ourselves and our world, overcome irrational fears, determine what is practical and what is not, and develop a moral society based on the common good, rather than a superstitous belief in some gigantic moralistic super-parent in the sky.
When you insist on belief in "god," "heaven and hell," and all that other smutty stuff, you harm not just yourself, but all of us, our children, and our children's children.
So stop it. Go and learn the truth, and the truth, even though it may make you sad and scared for a while, will ultimately set you free.

Hell doesn't exist. Neither does "Satan," for the record. Or demons. Probably no angels either. God? Eh, I'm not sure. But good comes from an innate desire to survive. You don't want to piss off your neighbor by doing something mean to them, because your neighbor could kill you (at least in primitive times, but the idea still applies). So you don't kill your neighbor, rape your neighbor, hit your neighbor, etc. Or, at least you know it's wrong to do those things. We do evil because we're not perfect. There is corruption when people forget about their neighbors and start hitting them even when they know it's not okay. Ockman's Razor - take the simpler explanation.
But to actually answer the question, people don't believe in God because they don't want to. They whole idea of a big guy in the sky watching you all the time and if you step out of line is going to fry you with fire and brimstone doesn't sit too well with many people. So, simply, people think the idea of a god is:
a. impossible
b. scary
c. unncessary
d. a mixture of the above

God didn't create traffic laws, elected human officials did.
We as a society have created moral and legal laws to preserve harmony in our society. Other species do it too.
"Good comes from Heaven" - are you so feeble-minded, you need someone else to tell you right & wrong ? Can't you figure it out for yourself ?
Have you considered the Deist pov - god created the universe & everything therein & then said "right you humans, this is yours. Look after it wisely & don't go making a mess".
Take resposibility for your own actions & stop assuming divine intervention in everything in the world (perhaps that'll cause you to try to make the world a better place, instead of leaving it to god).

Ok, the truth is you cannot guarantee that there is a god, however i canno6t tell you there isn't either, and the whole chaos thing. that is a really weak point, eventually we as humans would realize that we would be in danger, asw soon as crime rised, we would hire private security, or "guards" in olden days, eventually we all would need one, thus a law would be made by humans, for humans, You cannot say that god or gods (I am a neutral) exist. I do believe in a supperior being, however if he isn't real i wouldn't deny it without proof like you did. Unless you have solid proof, or have talked to god, you cannot say he/she/it is real.
Im sorry, but there is no way you can convince me.

You say there "MUST" be? There you go assuming... how about this: YOU believe whatever you wish and let the rest of the people believe what they want?
Imposing YOUR beliefs on others is what brought many people here to the New World, remember that part of history?
What if YOU are the one who's wrong? You wish to drag me along, too? I'll make a deal with you: you believe what you want and I won't try to impose my beliefs on you... and YOU reciprocate... OK? This way, those that believe are happy and those that don't are likewise happy. You don't judge me or people like me, and I and people like me won't judge you or people like you... sound fair enough? If not, go and have laws drafted, passed, etc., and change the Constitution of the good ol' 50 US of A... there's food for thought for you, too!

That's not really food for thought. How does this evidence relate to God? Did you ever consider that maybe, oh I don't know, MEN created something like traffic laws? Even moral laws as well. Would you choose your morals based on what you think is right, or what you're most comfortable with? Perhaps men created "moral laws" to suit themselves. As far as order, you are one sheltered individual. We live in America, of course most of us are going to think the world is in lively order. Oh, how pathetic.

The foolishness that serves you as a substitute for logic and reason is a logical fallacy (a flaw in thinking) known as the "Argument From Incredulity"... which is a sub-category of the "Argumentum ad Ignorantiam" (Argument From Ignorance). It goes something like this: "I can't conceive of how this might have come to be; therefore, God did it."
That does not point to a limitation of nature... rather, it exemplifies a limitation of knowledge or intellect. Also, it is intellectually dishonest, since it does not ACKNOWLEDGE the limitation of knowledge or intellect... it merely invokes the fanciful idea of a supernatural creator-entity to manifest the ILLUSION that cognitive dissonance has been resolved. It substitutes 'faith' for fact, and 'belief' for knowledge... but neither faith nor belief are sufficient to sustain reason... they are only sufficient to sustain willful ignorance.
That is the epitome of self-delusion.
"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." ~ Robert M. Pirsig

If that is your only reason for believing in God you are in denial.
Even cultures that have no God have moral laws and traffic laws.
Natural laws come from millions of years of evolution. Good and Evil comes from the mind of man. You don't need God or Satan for that.

Honestly , your in denial...........decisions is where good and bad comes from, you know "FREE WILL"? As far as where does the world come from, no one will ever know!!!! But I also think that's a great way to look @ things. Instead of asking people Where is GOD, You should be asking Where is the LOVE?
