Daß ist aber sehr einfach! When you leave the US, you use your valid German passport to enter Germany. When you come back to the US, you use your valid Green Card to enter the US. To be on the safe side you may wish to carry a copy of your marriage certificate, and at some point, you really should apply with the German passport office to get a new passport in your new name, but otherwise, no problem!

Same happened to my wife. Just talk to the German Embasy and have them change the name. You'll need to show your marriage certificate, social security card, drivers license, green card or whatever other ID you have...

Take all the documentation in it, and especially take a copy of your marriage certificate - which explains the name change.
