Every state is different. Some are very strict and others aren't. Some require a lot of experience or someone with a degree so....call your local mental health agency and ask for a referral for your state. They will provide you with all the info you need base on what you are actually going to provide for these people. You have to be sure to meet all their standards because mental health is pretty well regulated in most states. It is such a money making business in some states that people are trying to get into it for the wrong reasons. I believe it is a field that needs good people and I wish you luck.
