The first rule...This is no joke intended. You can't guess what your object of desire is going to react. You can't think about that person's feelings because that typically lead to you second guessing yourself and doubt has a smell of failure.
Girls pick that up. Once you start doing that you start talking yourself out of it. The opportunity will pass you by. So, do not start debating with yourself. Be decisive!
So...Ask the girl to dance with a notion that you do not care about the results. Ask the girl you can hold her hand. Ask the girl you can kiss her good night...Most girls are waiting to be asked these things. Remember do not start the internal debate with yourself. Just don't really care about the outcome or fear of rejection...just have faith in yourself and roll the dice.

You may want to yell it to the world and it is ok to feel that way. In fact it is great to feel that way. But, what would someone think of you if you did?
I think you need to play it kewl. Be casual about it so not to make her aware of your feelings. You want her to feel comfortable around you and not feel the pressure that she has to like you back.
If you don't think you have the courage to do it, dig deep inside yourself and try to imagine that you are asking someone you only like as a friend. The important part is that you give it a try because you only live once and if she says yes, you'll never regret it.

well,just be bold ask her to the dance just walk up to her [if shes busy tap her on the shoulder lightly] say "Hi [her name] i have something to ask you [pause but not for to long...] will you go to the dance with me?" and your off from there ^.^ hope she says yes!~Penguin

just ask, but you need to do it quick or someone will beat you to it!!! if you are nervous just stick a note on her desk before she comes in,that is sweet too

Practice in front of the mirror and then go up to her and treat it like you are in front of the mirror.
